California Department of Public Health (CDPH)

Hospices in California are licensed, regulated, inspected, and/or certified by CDPH. CDPH oversees hospice compliance of state laws and regulations, certification of nurse assistants, and the licensing of hospice providers.

Social Security Act §1861

Title 18, Section 1861 (dd) of the Social Security Act defines the term “hospice care.”
